Welcome to the FitForMe Research Website! I am happy that you are interested in the science behind our products. Of course, this is a great passion of mine.

I am Dr. Ingrid Kruizinga, the R&D manager at FitForMe since 2019.

Background

Although now an expert in bariatrics and supplements, this was not a very obvious career choice for me. I studied psychology and completed the Research Master of Clinical and Health Psychology with honors. Contrary to most people, I enjoyed working on my Master’s Thesis. This led me to pursue a career as a researcher.

I received a Ph.D. position from Erasmus Medical Center (Rotterdam, the Netherlands), where I evaluated the quality and application of a new psychosocial assessment tool that is, since my research, used in regional Child and Family Centers. After completing my Ph.D. in 2015, I worked as a senior researcher for the Municipality of Rotterdam and a mental health care organization.

Due to budget cuts, the focus shifted more towards patient care at the expense of research. Feeling restricted in my development, I applied for a job in a completely different field – Bariatrics! I brought a solid research background to the table with a Good Clinical Practice certification which enabled me to learn about the GI tract, surgeries, deficiencies, and the research substantiating our specialized supplements. Recently, I earned my certification as an Orthomolecular Advisor.

Research & Development

My role at FitForMe is very diverse, and it allows me to connect with many different professionals, internally and externally. The most important core value of FitForMe is putting the customer first. I contribute to this value by initiating new studies with our products to evaluate their safety and efficacy. We collaborate with external researchers to safeguard the objectivity of the study results. The study results are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Subsequently, I use these study results as input to advise on optimizing our current products or developing new products. Together with the operations team at FirForMe, I work to develop and produce our products.

Knowledge Sharing

Sharing knowledge and insight about our clinical studies is important to me; therefore, I have developed an internal educational program for my FitForMe colleagues. Externally, we host educational webinars and sponsored symposia to inform healthcare professionals about the latest developments.

We highly appreciate your input. We see the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and experience as a two-way street that enables us to provide the best products for bariatric patients!
On that note, I invite you to reach out to me! Do you have a question, comment, or suggestion? I would love to hear from you!
